Ladies and gentlemen, I now declare that the 8th HELP College Debate Competition is finally over~for us that is because we lost 3 out of 4...How stunning is the result,right?
Before letting you to think that we suck badly,which we eventually are...I would like to articulate your misunderstanding with some of the truths.
First,we only prepared for 3 days before the debate comes while the other school have special coaching class throughout the whole year.
Secondly,it's our first time to participate in debate competition which showed that we are truly inexperience.We only have narrow idea of what a debate really is and how it is really conducted in competition.
Thirdly,you were not at the scene seeing us giving out speech nervously till we stop and shivered for a few times.There is also a few times we couldn't understand the opposition's points and just sat down without giving out POI(point of information).
Although it was a bad case but we gained some useful knowledge as in the ways of speaking,development of the points,building up foundation and also framing up the parameter.
Some of the adjudicators gave very meaningful advise which some could also being used in daily life interaction.
Plus we also met some interesting people such as the humorous Indian speaker in the last competition.He taught us some of the Tamil language in such a way that everyone laughed out loudly.
This is one of the point of life where we come to build up over skills and deal with circumstances.It is also a breakthrough,out of the box!
Life is like a thread with knots all over...
